[warning]If you have yet to receive a link to your family’s recording folder on Google Sheets please email Jane at instructor@kumoncalwell.com.[/warning]

1. Click on the link in your Instructor’s email invite to open your child/ren’s Record Sheet in Google Sheets.

2. Find the tab for the current month and start recording your child’s results.

3. Record in date order. That should also mean the order in which your child has completed their work. Workbooks are manually numbered in pencil by Kumon staff to help keep you and your child inline with the Instructor’s study plan as well as maximise the step-by-step design in the worksheets. If you have any questions about this please let us know.

4. Note the horizontal line that is written in your summary score on the front page of the workbook is now to be notated as a score of 100 in Google Sheets.

5. Record all the relevant details eg. Name, month, year, home/Centre study, date, level, first page no., total time and scores for either 10 or 5 pages as per example below (other combos are possible).

6. At the end of every month type the level and the highest Workbook No completed in the month plus the total number of worksheets studied. If your child is doing 10 pages per day there should be 310 worksheets in total for a month of 31 days and 155 worksheets in total if your child is doing 5 pages per day (and less for fewer pages than 5).

[info]Summary
This is a great opportunity for you to stay in-touch and up-to-date with your child’s progress and daily study routine. It will provide both Instructor and Parent first-hand information in a timely manner to adjust the study plan when necessary.[/info]

Record as per example for 10 pages & 5 pages

Why we aim for Monthly Totals?

Example of totals

We need to keep records up-to-date for at least three reasons:

  1. to see what has or has not been achieved in the month and thus keep Instructor, Parent and Student up-to-date.
  2. to monitor standard completion times (SCTs) and accuracy to help keep your child on track, content and motivated to do their work.
  3. to provide an historical account of your child’s work.

Monthly totals are automatically totalled at the bottom of the record sheet as a running tally for your information.
